Chairman of DRDGOLD South Africa (DRDGOLD SA) Dr Paseka Ncholo announced today that, as a consequence of continuing seismicity, a new mining plan was being implemented at DRDGOLD SA’s Blyvooruitzicht (Blyvoor) mine near Carletonville.
DRDGOLD Limited (“DRDGOLD”) and Emperor Mines Limited have today signed a sale and purchase agreement for Emperor to acquire DRDGOLD’s Papua New Guinea (“PNG”) assets comprising a 20% interest in the Porgera Joint Venture (“Porgera”), a 100% interest in the Tolukuma Gold Mine (“Tolukuma”) and all DRDGOLD’s exploration tenements in PNG (together the “Gold Assets”)(the “Transaction”).

DRDGOLD regrets to announce that at approximately 14:30 today, rescue workers located and recovered the body of the employee missing underground at the No 5 Shaft of the company’s North West Operations at Stilfontein in North West Province since Wednesday’s earthquake.
