Condensed consolidated financial statements - US GAAP

Overview

Durban Roodepoort Deep, Limited (DRDGOLD) provides as part of this annual report, to all shareholders, condensed financial statements derived from and presented in the manner detailed below.

Basis of preparation
The condensed consolidated financial statements have been derived from the Group’s consolidated financial statements as prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (US GAAP). US GAAP differs in certain material respects from South African Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (SA GAAP). The condensed consolidated financial statements do not include notes in support of the financial information presented therein. The Group’s consolidated financial statements, prepared in accordance with US GAAP, from which the condensed consolidated financial statements have been derived, contain detailed notes prepared in accordance with US GAAP. The consolidated financial statements prepared in accordance with US GAAP, together with related notes, are included under Item 18 in DRDGOLD’s Annual Report on Form 20-F filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on or about 30 September 2004. The DRDGOLD Annual Report on Form 20-F for the year ended 30 June 2004 as filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on or about 30 September 2004 is available free of charge on EDGAR at www.sec.gov and www.drdgold.com.

The condensed consolidated financial statements set forth below for the three years ended 30 June 2004, and as at 30 June 2004 and 2003 have been derived from and should be read in conjunction with the US GAAP financial statements included under Item 18 in DRDGOLD’s Annual Report on Form 20-F as filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on or about 30 September 2004.
