Group structure

DRDGOLD has a 74% holding in Ergo Mining Operations (Proprietary) Limited. Of the balance, 20% is held by DRDGOLD’s black economic empowerment (BEE) partner, Khumo Gold SPV (Pty) Limited (Khumo Gold). A further 6% is held by an employee trust, the DRDSA Empowerment Trust. DRDGOLD is thus in compliance with the BEE equity target of 26%, set for 2014 by South Africa’s first Broad-based Socio-economic Empowerment Charter. It achieved this goal in FY2007.

Ergo Mining Operations (Proprietary) Limited controls Ergo Mining (Proprietary) Limited, Crown Gold Recoveries (Proprietary) Limited and East Rand Proprietary Mines Limited (ERPM), each a surface retreatment operation.

Blyvooruitzicht Gold Mining Company Limited, primarily an underground mining operation, is directly held by DRDGOLD Limited (74%), Khumo Gold (20%) and the Trust (6%).
